WHO ARE WE?
In Burundian society a cow (inka) takes a very special place. They are synonoumous to the women of my beloved country. Therefore I, Eliane Becks Nininahazwe, identify very closely with these animals. They are also of extreme importance to me as an artist since my music instrument, a one-stringed type of violin called the indonongo, is essentially made of the horn of a cow.
